Marie-Paule Leroux's Bio

Marie-Paule LEROUX was born in Le Loroux-Bottereau, a little village near Nantes in Brittany, France. She obtained her Baccalaureate in 1979 and her BTS in 1981. She then joined Sauvion et Fils, a winery specialized in Loire Valley wines, and was appointed export manager two years later. Her position took her to many different countries and continents. In 1991, together with her winemaker husband, Alain ROUSSEAU, they migrated to Tasmania Australia. In 1993 they became Australian citizens. That same year Marie-Paule established Exquisite Flavours in Hobart, a gourmet food wholesale business. In 2001, she was elected Telstra Tasmanian Business Woman of the year in the Small Business Category. She sold Exquisite Flavours in 2003 to join her husband who had been offered a position in a winery near Brisbane. In 2004, she published in France a memoir of her eleven years in Tasmania: “La Grenouille dans le Billabong”. In 2005 Alain and Marie-Paule moved back to Tasmania. Marie-Paule currently works as an export sales consultant in the Pacific for two different wineries. June 06
